Our client is looking for a Food Safety and Compliance Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: Associate degree in food safety or related field.
- Familiarity with FSMA 204, FTL, and Prop-12 regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance or regulatory roles within food distribution, service, or production.
- Understanding of cGMP guidelines and HACCP certification (or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment).
- Experience documenting and following up on adverse events and complaints is preferred.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for maintaining adherence to food safety protocols across all operational processes, from product intake and storage to distribution and final delivery to customers. The position ensures compliance with applicable food safety standards, focusing on identifying and mitigating microbiological, chemical, and physical hazards throughout the supply chain.
The role supports the Quality Assurance and Food Safety team by managing records, monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting with the implementation of quality control measures. This includes alignment with the Food Safety Plan, Food Defense Plan, HACCP, FSMA-204, and other applicable regulatory standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in product recall procedures and inventory holds.
- Coordinate with departments to address quality assurance concerns.
- Facilitate training sessions for warehouse staff on food safety protocols and best practices.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure regulatory compliance with relevant agencies.
- Monitor corrective actions and track audit results from internal and external parties.
- Manage documentation for vendor certifications and compliance with specific program requirements.
- Maintain records of quality issues and ensure credit issuance tracking.
- Monitor product returns and verify adherence to company policies.
- Verify manufacturer details in inventory systems as needed.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Food Safety Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with warehouse management systems (e.g., BFC, Retalix).
- Ability to interpret and analyze data, including lot codes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to balance individual and team responsibilities while fostering a positive work environment.
